This work is an imagined scenario in which preserved dead bodies can come back to life with the help of technology one day but a disaster makes the revival impossible.

Adherents of transhumanism are hopeful that humans will be free from corporeal restraints—including death—one day, though what they believe has raised skepticism and many questions.

That hope of revival hinges on the practice of cryonics, which requires cooling a dead body's temperature down to -196 degree celsius by an anti-freezing solution. The bodies will then become glass-like, to be stored inside fridges waiting for their revival enabled by major scientific breakthroughs.

Some cryonics theories include also the possibility of scanning a cryopreserved brain for information that could be uploaded to the cloud or used to grow a new body.
